I'm confused how to format it Since this is a brand new hard drive with nothing on it how do I enter into some sort of disk util mode to format it correctly. Do I need to remove it and place it into some sort of external enclosure then connect my Macbook Pro to it so I can select that disk in the Disk Util feature to format it? You can either boot from an install USB for any version of OSX or take it out and format via an external adapter, which may be easier for you.
